Most people calling a gutter company have never hired one before. These are the questions we get asked most, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.
Do I even need gutters?
Most houses around me do not have gutters. Why would I?
Because they were left off the builder specification to save cost, not because an engineer decided your house did not need them. Arizona rainfall totals are low but arrive in short intense monsoon bursts, and that water lands in the same narrow strip of ground every storm. Over several summers that shows up as fascia rot, washed-out landscaping, sinking pavers and sometimes water inside.
How do I know if I have a problem?
Walk the perimeter after a storm. Look for channels scoured into the rock or soil under the roof edge, splash staining low on the stucco, landscape material on the driveway, settling pavers, and soft or darkened fascia board.
Will you tell me if I do not need them?
Yes. Homes with deep overhangs, good grading and hardscape at the drip line are sometimes fine as they are. Plenty of houses also only need gutters on one or two elevations rather than the whole perimeter, which is a much smaller job.
Cost and estimates
What does it cost?
It depends on roofline length, number of storeys, roof type, gutter size and whether you add guards. We give a rough range on the phone and an exact written price on site. Both are free. There is a full breakdown of what moves the price on our cost page.
Why is there no price list on the site?
Because a number on a page is either too broad to help or specific and wrong. Two houses on one street can differ by a factor of two once you account for the actual roof.
Do you price match?
Bring us the competing quote. We will go through it with you and beat it where we can do so without compromising the work. Where we cannot, we will show you exactly what the difference buys.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, through Acorn and Hearth.
How does payment work?
Payment terms are set out in your written agreement before any work begins, along with the scope, price and warranty. We accept card, ACH, debit, cash and check.
The work itself
What does seamless mean?
Your gutters are formed from a single continuous coil of aluminum, cut to your roofline, rather than assembled from pre-cut sections. The only joints are at corners and downspout outlets. Fewer joints means fewer places to eventually leak.
You make them at my house?
Yes. We bring our own roll-forming machine to the job and form the runs in your driveway.
Five inch or six inch?
Six inch carries considerably more water and suits larger roof areas, steeper pitches and long runs. Five inch is adequate on many Valley homes. We size to your roof rather than defaulting to one.
Do you work on tile roofs?
Yes, and tile is very common here. It attaches differently from shingle and takes more care at the edge. We also handle flat and low-slope roofs, which usually need scuppers rather than conventional gutters.
How long does installation take?
Most single-family homes are a one-day job.
What if my fascia is rotted?
It has to be repaired first, because there is nothing sound to hang from. We subcontract that carpentry and tell you before we do rather than discovering it on install day.
Guards, maintenance and drainage
Do guards mean I never clean gutters again?
No. They dramatically reduce it and prevent the blockages that cause overflow, but they do not make a system self-maintaining, particularly in a dust climate.
Does Arizona dust affect micro-mesh guards?
It can, and most companies will not tell you this. Fine airborne dust can build into a film on the mesh over time, and water may then sheet across the top rather than pass through. An occasional rinse clears it. You should know that before you buy, not after.
My yard floods but my roof seems fine.
That is a drainage problem rather than a gutter problem, and we do both. Sometimes the fix is a drain line or French drain and the gutters are beside the point.
Licensing, warranty and scheduling
Are you licensed?
Yes. Arizona ROC #365076, classification CR-45 — commercial and residential sheet metal. Arizona requires a licence for any job over $1,000, which covers essentially every gutter installation. You can verify any contractor through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and you should.
What is the warranty?
50-year on materials and 5-year on workmanship, set out in the written agreement with exactly what is covered, what is excluded and how to claim.
How fast do you respond?
Within 12 hours of an estimate request, usually much sooner. Antonio answers the phone himself.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. The CR-45 classification covers commercial sheet metal, including scuppers and overflow drainage on parapet roofs. We also work regularly with GCs, roofers, remodelers and property managers.
Can I visit your office?
Our Peoria office is a working office rather than a showroom. Estimates happen at your house, which is the only place the job can actually be assessed.
